Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye is part of the Inner Hebrides chain off the western coast of Scotland.  It is now connected to the mainland by a bridge.  We headquartered in the town of Portree at a delightful bed and breakfast home operated by a former British Navy sea captain.  He ran his B&B like he had run his ship. You were expected to be on time for meals and to park precisely as instructed.  The home looked out over a quaint harbor to a commercial salmon farm floating offshore.  Each morning a boatload of workers would head out to the farm, returning in the evening.  Most evenings our host would meet them and take a fish or two.  We enjoyed breakfasts of scrambled eggs, sausage, and poached salmon fresh from the bay.

I think the pictures from Skye will speak for themselves.  I would like to return to Skye again, and to the same B&B.  Also on my list is the nearby Island of Mull.  Further distant are the remote islands of the Outer Hebrides.
